Shelby Powe is a trained Birth & Postpartum Doula.

Her focus is on supporting clients in the MassHealth Doula Program.

 

Shelby has a natural, calm, compassionate, and nurturing approach to her care. Growing up in hospitals with siblings who have/had childhood cancer, congenital heart disease, intellectual disability, and being the daughter of Birthing Gently's owner, the medical field seemed like a natural calling! Shelby's calling for Doula work grew deeper after becoming a mom herself in 2025.

Shelby was part of the first cohort to graduate from the Health Care Occupations program in Haverhill, MA (2020). She earned the Health Care Occupations Spirit Award for her student mentorship. During her four years in the Health Care Occupations, Shelby had the opportunity to assist with patients’ overall care and comfort, which might include bathing, dressing, feeding, and monitoring their vital signs; taking medical histories; collecting and preparing lab specimens; performing basic tests and updating medical records.
