Birth Doula Profile - Chasmine Hendrix
Chasmine Hendrix, "Chas", was born and raised in Lincoln Nebraska and in 2013 moved to New Orleans. She is the oldest of two. Chas has a younger brother, Braxten, and is the oldest of eight grandchildren. She has a fairly large family and helped raise all of her younger cousins.
After moving to New Orleans Chas received her CNA license. Eventually she moved into her dream job - working in the Pediatric ER.
After being told it would be impossible for her to ever have children of her own, Chas became pregnant! September 6, 2016 her bundle of joy, Kane Liam Hendrix, arrived. Kane is the reason Chasmine wanted to find a way to continue to help mothers and babies. After some eye opening situations throughout Chasmine’s pregnancy and Kane’s birth she decided to dive in and become a birth doula.
Chas is working towards her certified to become a Lactation Counselor. Becuase of her own high-risk history, she would like to focus on high-risk pregnancies . She also has a passion for, and connection to, mothers that have are active duty or married to active duty service people. Her husband is in the Navy and she understands how difficult those situations can be. Chasmine is a very positive and outgoing person and wants to do everything possible to help every mom and family to achieve the birth they desire. Every mom, every birth, and every baby has a story to tell, and Chasmine is here to give them voice and advocacy.
Chas lives in Harvey, Louisiana with her husband Matthew, son Kane (5 months), and her two fur babies Jayko and Maverick. She works part time at the hospital and is a stay at home mom the rest of the time. Chasmine is very thankful to have a strong support system and is willing and ready to make sure you have one as well.
