Birth Doula Profile - Brooke Jenkins
Brooke is a Louisiana native from the Northshore, and now, with her husband and daughter, calls Baton Rouge home. From a young age, she wanted to learn about the family and felt led to serve others. Brooke pursued this call, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies and her Master’s degree in Social Work from LSU. Her career path took a turn when she and her husband welcomed their first daughter into their lives in 2015.
Brooke's birth experience and new role as a mother changed everything. Her transformed heart shifted her intentions to focus on family and on supporting other mothers. This directed her to an interest in doula work; a perfect role for encouraging “mother and child advocacy.”
Brooke aids her clients in achieving the grace and beauty of their childbirth experience through respect, support, and the knowledge needed to make informed decisions when it comes to pregnancy, labor, birth, and beyond.
She is focused on helping mothers achieve their own birth wishes, whatever they may be, with confidence and comfort. Modern birth experiences can often leave much to be desired, but Brooke believes doulas can help make a cultural shift, normalizing the beauty of birth and leaving fear behind!
