Birth Doula Profile - April Pilkenton
April’s passion for helping people started in high school when she became a certified nursing assistant. She has twelve years of emergency room triage experience. She currently works hand in hand with the midwives of a local OBGYN practice. She is American Red Cross-certified in adult and infant CPR and has experience working with C-section deliveries and high-risk pregnancies. She also possesses expert skills for assisting those undergoing trauma and trauma survivors.
April spends her entire workday administering care to expectant mothers.
Engaging in this specialized work made her realize the importance of helping women have the most optimal birthing experience possible. So she expanded her knowledge and trained to become a birth doula. When working as a doula, April practices with a kind demeanor, offering encouragement, and providing evidence-based information to expectant and new mothers.
As a mother of four children, April knows how essential prenatal and postpartum care is for moms and their babies. She truly believes that expectant mothers should be provided the opportunity to enjoy the birth experience they desire. April looks forward to sharing her knowledge and unique personal care with you during this most special time.
