Birthing Gently was established in 2002 by Tara Poulin / Founder, CD(DONA), BDT(DONA) as a solo practice. Since then Birthing Gently has grown into a multi-doula practice specializing in high risk deliveries. Our original Doula practice was established in Boston, MA and has expanded into Southern NH. Many of our birth Doula's have trained directly under Tara Poulin through our DONA International approved birth Doula Workshops. We offer a group of highly trained & experienced birth Doula's, or for a significantly lower rate you can work with one of our trained Birth Doula's through our Apprentice Doula program. We can be identified at births by our logo on our unique navy blue uniform shirt. Our team at Birthing Gently is committed to providing affordable care to expecting and new families. We provide a nurturing environment for learning during pregnancy and beyond. Our mission is to promote maternal and fetal well-being. We provide an unbiased approach to our expecting families no matter what the plan for birth might be (i.e. Natural, Medicated or Cesarean Section). Between 2002 - 2011 we provided Birth Doula services to 550 families, Postpartum Doula Services to 210 families, Childbirth education to 7200 families, & Trained over 750 Birth Doulas. The vast majority of clients we serve are delivering at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. We also service: Beth Israel Deaconess, Mass General Hospital, St. Elizabeth's, Newton Wellesley, New England Medical Center, South Shore Hospital, Mount Auburn Hospital, Emerson Hospital, Cambridge Birth Center, Salem Hospital, Beverly Hospital, Winchester Hospital, Lawrence General Hospital, Lowell General, Anna Jacques Hospital, Portsmouth Hospital N.H., Elliott Hospital N.H., Catholic Medical Center, Southern N.H. Medical, Concord Hospital and Holy Family Hospital.
